About Me

- Name: Crabmeat Thompson
- Location: Middletown, DE
I am from the tiny state of Delaware. I have enjoyed teaching English Literature and writing classes for many years, but I retired from the classroom when it became possible. Then I devoted myself to writing, both non-fiction and creative, for a small magazine with which I have had a productive relationship for ten years. Now I am preparing to produce my seventh album of music. I have CDs of original music, but my next one will be Irish folk music, inspired by a month studying at University College, Dublin, in summer ‘86. Last year I was awarded a Fellowship and grant form the Delaware State Arts Council as a distinguished Folk Musician. I was delighted by the opportunity to perform at many functions. I worked during the last five summers as a liaison with the Delaware Department of Education, setting up summer schools for Mexican and Guatemalan children of Migrant worker families -- a job in which I became a small part of their family life, helping with moving, addressing health concerns, and registering the kids for school. November through April 2007-8 my wife and I lived on the unique island community of Chokoloskee in the Everglades.
